1. Describe the organization of the nervous system, both structural and functional.
2. Regarding nervous tissue :
a) Name 5 neuroglial cells, their structure and function
b) Give the general anatomy of a neuron, their functional and structural classification.
3. Regarding nervous physiology:
a) define related terms (bold face term in textbook)
b) know the ions involved and direction of movement
c) synapse and general components
4. Define reflex and name the 5 components of a reflex arc, and give the functional classifications of reflexes
5. Regarding the CNS :
a) know embryonic development : regions and spaces/chambers
b) know the connective tissue coverings (meninges) and function,
c) know other protection mechanisms for the CNS
d) know cerebral hemispheres, lobes, gross & histological anatomy and function.
For cerebral lobes : know primary and association function for each of the four lobes.
e) know the parts of the diencephalon; their location, names, and function
